Grow Your Brand with Growing

There I was, staring at a blank brand board, trying to find the right visual language for a new artisanal café. The client wanted something warm, inviting, and slightly whimsical—something that felt handcrafted but still professional. I reached for my font library, scrolling through dozens of options, until I landed on Growing. It wasn’t the first thing I tried, but it quickly became the one that made me pause.

Growing for Logo Design and Brand Identity

As a script handwritten font, Growing brings a sense of movement and personality that’s hard to replicate with more rigid typefaces. Its varying baseline gives it a natural, organic feel, making it ideal for logos that need to feel personal and expressive. I tested it on a few logo concepts, and the results were immediately striking. The smooth lines and gorgeous glyphs gave the design a soft, elegant edge that felt both modern and timeless.

When paired with a clean sans serif for the tagline, it created a nice contrast without clashing. The alternates in Growing added variety, allowing me to tweak the look for different applications. Whether it was a minimalist café name or a more elaborate sign, the font adapted well without losing its character.

Growing for Packaging and Product Labels

I later used Growing on a packaging mockup for a small skincare line. The product labels needed to feel authentic and trustworthy, and Growing provided just that. Its flowing curves and subtle variations made the text feel like it was written by hand, which aligned perfectly with the brand’s handmade aesthetic.

On a label, the font didn’t overwhelm the design. Instead, it complemented the imagery and color palette, adding a touch of sophistication. I found that it worked best when used sparingly—on a product name or a short tagline—rather than as a long-form text. In larger sizes, it maintained clarity, but in smaller sizes, it could become less readable, especially on busy backgrounds.

Growing for Social Media Graphics and Web Headers

For the café’s social media presence, I used Growing on a series of Instagram posts and website headers. The font’s elegance and charm translated well online, where visual appeal is key. It added a personal touch to promotional content, making the brand feel more approachable and creative.

On a website hero section, Growing stood out as a strong display font. It caught the eye without being too distracting, and its varying baseline gave it a dynamic feel that worked well with bold background colors. However, I noticed that on mobile devices, the font’s complexity could sometimes make it harder to read at smaller sizes. For web use, it’s best reserved for headlines and short phrases rather than body text.

Growing for Business Cards and Print Materials

A business card is one of the most important pieces of a brand’s identity, and Growing proved to be a great fit. The font’s smooth lines and graceful curves gave the card a refined look, while the alternates allowed for subtle customization. I experimented with different layouts, and the font always held up well, even when paired with minimalistic design elements.

One thing to keep in mind is that when printed, the font’s details can sometimes appear slightly softer than on screen. This isn’t a flaw—it’s part of its charm—but it’s worth testing on physical samples before finalizing any print work. For high-quality printing, ensure that the font is properly embedded and that the file format supports it.

Growing for Creative Projects and Brand Consistency

As a premium font, Growing offers a lot of flexibility for designers working on creative projects. Its versatility makes it a good choice for branding systems that require both a strong visual identity and a human touch. Whether it’s for a bakery’s packaging, a handmade shop’s website, or a local restaurant’s menu, Growing can add a unique flair that sets a brand apart.

However, it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. In more formal or corporate settings, its casual nature might not align with the desired tone. That said, when used thoughtfully, it can enhance a brand’s personality and help create a memorable visual identity.

Before using Growing in client work, I recommend testing it across different mediums and sizes. Try it on a mockup, print a sample, and see how it looks in various contexts. This will help you understand its strengths and limitations, ensuring that it fits the project’s needs.
